Muscat Festival 2014
The stage is set for the much-awaited Muscat Festival 2014, a month-long annual event showcasing Omani and international art and culture, to be inaugurated at Naseem Park and Al Amerat Park on 23rd January.
Along with a host of new participants from various governorates of the Sultanate, 62 countries from various parts of the world would be exhibiting their art and cultural heritage at the event.
The festival will run till February 22 and the timing for the visitors is from 4:30pm to 11pm.
The festival, virtually a make-shift global cultural village put together in Muscat, is expected to host a number of new activities this year and will comprise exhibitions that were not part of the previous editions of the event.
International consumer exhibition, amusement arts city, family village, arena of skills and events, main theatre events, Omani concerts — Tarab, restaurants corner, shepherds corner and government organisations, institutions, associations and clubs would feature at the Naseem Park. The much appreciated fireworks would also be held in the park at 8pm.
Among the prominent features of the Muscat Festival at the Al Amerat Park will be the Omani Heritage Village showcasing the lifestyle of various parts of Oman, their art and cultural heritage.
Two major international events – International Festival of Crafts and International Festival of Traditional Arts – will also be held at the Al Amerat Park.
